Elements of the graphic interface

GUI provides a set of components for interacting with software or hardware.

Each graphic component provides a way to work with the system. The Gui system has the following elements, such as:

Graphic user interface

The window is the area where the contents of the application are displayed. The contents in the window can be displayed in the form of icons or lists if the window represents the file structure. It is easier for the user to move through the file system in the research window. The windows can be folded, changed or increased to the size of the screen. They can be moved to any place on the screen. The window may contain another window of the same application called a daughter window.

Tabs – if the application allows you to perform several of its copies, they are displayed on the screen in the form of separate windows. The interface of the document with the tabs came up to open several documents in one window. This interface also helps to view the settings panels in the application. All modern web browsers use this function.

The menu – the menu is an array of standard commands grouped and placed in the visible place (usually from above) inside the application window. The menu can be programmed to display or hid the mouse click.

The icon – the icon – this is a small picture representing a related application. When clicking or double clicking on these icons, the application window opens. The badge displays applications and programs installed in the system in the form of small pictures.

The cursor – interacting devices, such as a mouse, a touch panel, a digital feather, are presented in a graphic interface in the form of cursors. On the screen, the cursor follows the instructions from the equipment almost in real time. Cursors are also called signs in systems with a graphic interface. They are used to select the menu, windows and other application functions.

The components of the graphic interface of the application

GUI applications contains one or more of the listed GUI elements:

The dialog box is a subsidiary that contains a message for the user and a request to perform any actions. For example: the application generates a dialogue to get a confirmation of the file from the user.

Buttons – they imitate real buttons and are used to send input data to the software.

Radio button-displays available options for choice. Only one can be chosen among all the proposed.

The flag is functions similar to the list. When the option is selected, the field is marked as noted. You can choose several parameters represented by flags.

List – provides a list of available elements for selection. You can choose more than one element.
